Hockey

This weekend we went to Souix City Iowa to play the Souix City Musketeers. Out of the four games we played we ended up winning two of them. On Saturday the JV team played at 3:15 and the game didn’t go our way the first two periods. We were down 3-1 at the end of the second period and we knew that we needed to work harder if we were going to win this game. At the end of the game we ended up losing 4-3. In contrast on Sunday we played the same team again but this time it went a lot better for us. We completely turned the way we played on Saturday around and ended up winning 4-1! I ended up getting two of our four goals so that was really cool and whenever you get a goal your team gets really pumped up and that’s a big deal in order to win a hockey game. After the JV game on Saturday, was the Varsity game which was a very big game for us. Before the game coach talked to us and told us that we need to win as many games from now on in order to make it to state. The worst thing in many players’ eyes is not making it to state after all the hard work you go through. That really pumped us up and made us work our hardest for a win; we ended up winning that game 4-1. On Sunday the Varsity game was crazy because we were short of players because of fights in the previous game. Because we didn’t have all our players some of us were expected to play a lot more than usual and it is exhausting not getting the breaks you usually do. We were down 3 to 1 going into the 2^nd period and we started the period on the penalty kill. Ike, AJ, Ben and I were the ones send out to kill the penalty but as we were doing that we ended up getting 2 short-handed goals. The game went into overtime; we were tied 4-4. The game did not end the way we wanted it to because they ended up scoring and winning the game giving a loss of 5-4
